Topic: Arc Flash Safety
An arc flash is electrical current flowing through air that flashes from one exposed live electrical conductor to another conductor or to ground. Arc flashes can occur when electrical clearances are inadequate or by deteriorating insulation of electrical conductors or human error. When an arc flash occurs, the result can cause destruction of equipment, fire or personal injury or even worse, death.
- Per NFPA, all commercial facilities must have an Arc Flash Study completed by 2014.
- Per NFPA, an Arc Flash Study must be completed every time your facility wiring is modified.

Speaker: Mr. Craig Kalie, President and founder of Customized Uptime Solutions, Inc. (CUSI).
Mr. Kalie has invested the past 12 years creating, testing, and implementing electrical solutions to help mitigate downtime and ensure electrical safety. He built the business from the ground up during a major economic downturn and has driven exponential growth in both revenue and profit over the past four years.
Craig started CUSI by educating companies on the root causes of downtime and by providing a patented hardware to multi-location companies to help them reduce their service spend. His proven expertise on how to uncover the source of downtime rather than just treating the symptoms has created long-term relationships with some of the most recognized medical, ATM, and instrumentation companies in the world.
Beyond hardware, CUSI has grown into a national specialty electrical company with technicians onsite daily all over the country diagnosing electrical infrastructure issues, performing safety inspections or arc flash studies, and/or implementing training seminars. Through this work, CUSI has discovered a way to get businesses refunds for overpayments on all utility bills water, sewer, gas, electric, telecom, and heating oil.
