Presentation: Thomas F. Lukach is a Professor Emeritus and Senior Lecturer of Mechanical Engineering Technology at The University of Akron. Earned a Master of Science Degree in Technical Education from The University of Akron and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Served as a faculty member and Program Director of various Engineering Technology Programs at The University of Akron and Stark State College for 37 years. Ten years of service as a Mechanical Engineering Technology Program Evaluator for the Engineering Technology Accreditation Committee of ABET. Served as an initial member of the State of Ohio TAG Transfer Agreement Committee for Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Technology Programs. Serve as the laboratory and facilities coordinator for the ASM Materials Camp for Teachers held at The University of Akron each summer.
Tom's discussion will present the differences between the academic paths in engineering technology and engineering, the different fields available within each, and the career opportunities possible in each area.
