Topic: Corrosion in the Home
Homeowners generally have no awareness about corrosion until it becomes a reality, sometimes with dire circumstances. Annual household corrosion costs in the US exceed $2 billion due to structural collapse, leaking pipes and storage tanks, explosions, polluted property, and remediation. There may be legal action when corrosion failures impact the safety of people, property, and the environment. A home may be expected to survive for at least 100 years, excluding the perils of natural disaster. A homeowner should not be threatened by unexpected and sometimes unnecessary, but often expensive, corrosion costs.
